In 2016, Fielding set CAPTRUST’s 10-year plan, which includes expanding its wealth management business line to create further cross-selling opportunities with its institutional businesses. Since January 2019, CAPTRUST has brought in seven wealth management firms to help achieve this goal, bolstering CAPTRUST’s presence in existing regions and expanding to reach new geographic opportunities. An additional focus for Fielding has been raising the number of female advisors working at CAPTRUST. In 2018, he helped launch the firm’s Women’s Initiative, and as of year-end 2019, the firm’s advisors were 27 percent women (up from 17 percent at the end of 2018).

Rush has contributed to CAPTRUST’s goal of creating cross-selling opportunities between the firm’s wealth management and institutional business lines by finding wealth management teams located in similar geographic regions to existing CAPTRUST institutional offices. These acquisitions have strengthened CAPTRUST’s presence around the country in areas like New England, Texas, Georgia, and CAPTRUST’s home state of North Carolina.
