Fixed Income ETF Launch

The Schwab 1-5 Year Corporate Bond ETF (SCHJ) was one of only two cap-weighted investment grade corporate bond ETFs to launch in 2019 – a year with very few fixed income ETF launches. The fund provides simple access to corporate fixed income securities that have a remaining maturity between 1-5 years. A straight-forward, low-cost fund offering potential tax-efficiency, it was designed to serve as part of the core of a diversified portfolio. SCHJ launched in 2019 with an expense ratio of 0.06% – among the lowest OERs in the fund’s projected Morningstar category. In December, SCHJ lowered its expense ratio to 0.05%, providing investors a new way to invest in short-term investment grade corporate bonds at an ultra-low cost.
